LEVINE COUSINS REUNION 2011 - OVERVIEW
The 2nd annual Levine Reunion was graciously hosted by Sandy and Harry Stein at their home in Upper Brookville, NY on Sunday, November 13, 2011 - luckily a lovely day. Next year's reunion is scheduled for November 11, 2012, since this Sunday in November seems to be convenient for most of the group. Hope you can join us!
Photos 1. A delicious buffet - many thanks to Sandy and Harry.
2. The original group of second cousins who came together in 2010 - Doris Levinson (honorary cousin for researching the genealogy and helping bring the Levines together), Helaine Feldman, Sandy Stein, David Levinson, Jane Lewit, Arlene Sass.
3. Since these Levine cousins descend from nine siblings, the blackboard identified the grandchildren of these siblings who attended the Steins' gathering.
4. Doris Levinson gathering more information that cousins could share about their ancestors. For example, one story was pieced together at this meeting -- Sima LEVINE Hochberg, the eldest sister, returned to Europe to help bring more relatives to America in the years before WW II. One of her siblings gave her a good deal of money to help make this possible. Tragically, Sima never returned to the U.S.A. as she, and other family members, were brutally murdered by the Nazis in 1942.
